Today, Bunny and I are taking the train to Washington, DC, to meet with Barack Obama as part of the delegation representing the Superbowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers. As I have stated before in this blog, I am excited to be able to chat briefly with him about Panda rights in China. I also have an appointment to meet with Secretary of State Hilary Clinton to discuss Chinese/US relations and Panda diplomacy. This will be a good day for human-panda relations.
While I am at the White House, Bunny has an appointment with congressman Barney Frank (who can often be seen on Real Time with Bill Maher). Rep. Frank recently introduced HR5843, a bill to federally decriminalize marijuana (co-sponsored by Rep. Ron Paul) and HR 5842, a second bill to allow medical prescription of marijuana. As Bunny is very interested in these issues, he and Rep. Frank are going to discuss how to further the campaign and gain support for marijuana law reform in Philadelphia/Pennsylvania and New Jersey areas.
I will try to blog about these important issues and let you know how these meetings went either tomorrow or later this weekend.
